Lucky for me, I live far away from the maddening crowds here in Northern California. Getting out into nature is just walking out the front door. Loss of motivation to continue your task at hand? Take a walk on the wild side, rain or shine, clear the cobwebs, find a subject to watch that puts a smile on your face, picks up your mood, then return to your work at hand with an adjusted attitude.
It’s important for me to have a window where I can look out to the natural world while I work no matter where my studio is set up. Today was a heavy rain day, perfect for me to spend the time in my studio, even if it’s just a clean-up and organize day. (Or is this procrastination again?) Hmmm…
Procrastination will now give way to a new beginning of daily dedication to the creative process—embrace the mistakes, celebrate the persistence and lessons learned from both.
